The Performance
What time does the band usually arrive?
Arrival is typically around 6:00pm for an evening reception performance, unless otherwise arranged.
How long does it take to set up?
On average, bands require between 60 to 90 minutes for load-in, setup and soundcheck.
How long will the band perform?
Performance times vary:
- Packages include 2 x 45 minutes, 2 x 1 hour (can be split 3 x 40 minutes).
- The 2 x 1 hour setup is the most popular.
How long are the breaks?
Breaks are usually around 30 minutes. If you’ve booked a DJ alongside the band, breaks may extend to 1 hour to accommodate the evening flow.
When should the band begin their first set?
For weddings, we recommend starting no earlier than 8:30pm—especially during summer when guests tend to enjoy mingling outdoors until later.
Can the band learn a special request or first dance song?
Absolutely! If you’ve booked one of our Gold, Platinum, or Ultimate packages, one custom song request is included—provided it’s musically suitable for the act booked.
Can we choose the songs?
We welcome your input and encourage you to highlight any favourites from the band’s set list. However, our musicians are experts at reading the room and curating a high-energy experience, so flexibility is key.
Is music provided during the breaks?
- Silver & Gold packages include curated playlists via Apple Music or Spotify (you can supply your own or use one of ours).
- Platinum & Ultimate packages come with a live DJ for seamless transitions.
What do the band wear?
For weddings, our standard is a smart, polished look — but we’re happy to discuss your preferences.
Do the performers need a changing room?
Yes – all acts require a private space to get changed, securely store personal belongings, and enjoy their contracted hot meal. A green room or suitable area provided by the venue is ideal.
Will the band bring their own sound equipment?
Yes, all of our acts are fully self-contained with professional-grade PA systems. For larger events, upgraded sound packages with a dedicated engineer are also available.
Booking & Logistics
How do I secure a booking?
To confirm your date:
- Sign and return the booking agreement via email.
- Pay a deposit: 25% for most packages, 50% for the Ultimate package.
Please note: we do not accept cash payments.
Are there any additional fees?
No hidden costs here — the price quoted includes everything. No unexpected charges down the line.
Does the quote include travel and other expenses?
Yes, travel and all associated costs are covered in the fee you’re quoted.
What happens if a band member is unwell or unavailable?
We work with a trusted collective of top-tier musicians. If someone becomes unavailable, a professional of equal calibre will step in — your performance won’t be compromised.
Do we need to provide food and drinks for the band?
Yes, all acts require soft drinks and a hot meal, as outlined in our terms and conditions.
Can the band work with a sound limiter?
Yes – all of our acts are experienced in working with venues that have sound limiters. Just let us know the decibel limit in advance, and we’ll ensure the performance is tailored accordingly.
When is the final balance due?
Your remaining balance can be paid anytime up to 7 days before your event.
Can we see the band live before booking?
Our acts are bespoke for private events and weddings, so public performances are rare. However, we occasionally announce showcase opportunities or public gigs on our social media – be sure to follow us for updates.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking 12–18 months ahead, particularly for peak dates. Our most popular acts tend to book out quickly!
Can we customise the band lineup?
Absolutely – we offer a range of lineup options to suit different budgets, spaces, and musical preferences.
Do you travel internationally for weddings?
Yes – GoldBeat acts are available worldwide. Travel and accommodation costs are factored into each bespoke quote.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation terms are outlined in our Terms & Conditions. Your deposit is non-refundable. Here’s a summary:
- Force Majeure Events – No cancellation fee.
- Client cancellations for other reasons:
- Within 48 hours of booking: No fee.
- Up to 90 days before event: 50% of remaining balance due.
- Up to 61 days before event: 75% of remaining balance due.
- Within 60 days of event: 100% of remaining balance due.
Venue & Technical Requirements
Do we need to provide a stage?
A stage isn’t essential, but it does enhance visibility and atmosphere – especially for larger or high-end events
What power supply is needed?
Most acts require at least 3 x 13-amp sockets each side of the performance area. We’ll confirm exact requirements during the planning stage.
Is the band’s equipment PAT tested and insured?
Yes – all equipment is annually PAT tested, and all acts hold up-to-date Public Liability Insurance.
Can the band perform outdoors?
Yes – as long as the performance area is covered, weatherproof, and has a safe power source.
