The Performance
What time does the band usually arrive?
Bands usually arrive around 2 hours before the performance to load in, set up, and soundcheck. We’re happy to adjust timing to suit your plans.
How long does it take to set up?
Most acts require 60–90 minutes to set up and soundcheck, depending on the band size and venue access.
How long will the band perform?
We offer a variety of flexible performance options:
- 2 x 45-minute sets (or a continuous 90-minute set)
- 2 x 60-minute sets (most popular)
How long are the breaks?
Breaks are typically 30 minutes, but they can be adapted to fit in with speeches, dinner service, or other activities. If you’ve booked a DJ, the music will continue uninterrupted.
When should the band start their first set?
This depends on your event timeline, but we typically recommend starting the first set after dinner or once guests are ready to hit the dancefloor.
Can we choose the songs?
You’re welcome to send us your favourites from the band’s setlist or give us general direction on style and vibe. Our performers are great at reading the room and building a fun, high-energy party – so we suggest keeping things a little flexible.
Is music provided during the breaks?
Yes.
- Silver & Gold packages include background playlists.
- Platinum & Ultimate packages come with a live DJ to keep the energy flowing.
What do the performers wear?
Our acts dress smartly as standard. If your party has a theme or specific dress code, we’ll do our best to coordinate accordingly.
Do the performers need a changing room?
Yes – all acts require a secure space to change outfits, store personal belongings, and have a hot meal. A spare room or private area works perfectly.
Will the band bring their own equipment?
Yes – all our bands are fully self-contained with professional-grade sound systems. For larger parties, we can offer upgraded sound and lighting packages too.
Can you provide walk-on music or special moments?
Absolutely – we can help create big entrance moments or musical surprises for birthday cake reveals, toasts, or first dances. And of course, we can play Happy Birthday for you!
Can the band make announcements or help host the party?
Yes – many bandleaders are happy to make informal announcements or act as light MCs for moments like cake cutting, speeches, or guest introductions.
Can the performance be a surprise?
Absolutely – we love helping create surprise moments! We can help coordinate the logistics ahead of the day.
Can guests get up and perform with the band?
Unfortunately, no. For safety, insurance and quality purposes, impromptu performances are not possible on any GoldBeat booking. We want everybody to have a safe and fun experience of the highest quality and do not compromise on this.
Booking & Logistics
How do I secure a booking?
To confirm your act:
- Sign and return the booking agreement.
- Pay a deposit (25% or 50%, depending on the package).
Are there any hidden fees?
No hidden costs – your quote includes all travel, performance, and setup unless you’ve requested optional extras.
Can we book multiple acts for different parts of the party?
Yes – many clients combine a daytime acoustic act with an evening band and DJ. We’ll handle all the logistics.
Can you help plan the entertainment flow?
Of course – we’ll work with you or your planner to make sure the entertainment fits seamlessly into your celebration, from start to finish.
Can you provide background music earlier in the day (e.g., garden drinks or dinner)?
Yes – we can supply acoustic duos, soloists, or chill-out DJs for daytime sets, before the main evening performance begins.
Can we use your microphone for speeches or toasts?
Yes – most bands are happy to provide a mic for speeches during their setup window. Just give us a heads-up ahead of time.
Do you offer themed party entertainment?
Yes – we can tailor acts to suit your theme (e.g., Gatsby, Studio 54, Ibiza Chill, Motown Night, etc.) with styling, repertoire, and even costumes if needed.
What happens if a performer can’t make it on the day?
We work with a network of top-tier professional musicians. If someone is unwell or unavailable, a trusted deputy will step in without affecting the quality of the performance.
Do we need to feed the band?
Yes – a hot meal and soft drinks are appreciated, especially for longer bookings. This is standard across the industry.
Can the band work with a sound limiter?
Yes – our acts regularly perform at venues with sound restrictions. Let us know the decibel limit and we’ll make sure everything runs smoothly.
When is the final balance due?
Final payment is due up to 7 days before your event.
Can we see the band live before booking?
Our acts mainly perform at private events, but we may have videos or upcoming public showcases available. Just ask!
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking 6–12 months ahead, especially for summer weekends and key celebration dates.
Can we customise the band size or style?
Yes – we offer a range of lineups to suit your party vibe, venue size, and budget.
Do you offer entertainment for parties abroad?
Yes – GoldBeat acts are available worldwide. All travel and accommodation is factored into your quote.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our full terms are in your booking contract. Your deposit is non-refundable. Here’s a summary:
- Force Majeure Events – No cancellation fee.
- Other cancellations:
- Within 48 hours of booking: No fee.
- Up to 90 days before event: 50% of remaining balance.
- Up to 61 days: 75%
- Within 60 days: 100%
Deposits are non-refundable.
Can we arrange a planning call or site visit?
Yes – we’re happy to arrange a video call or venue visit, especially for larger or more complex celebrations.
Venue & Technical Requirements
Do we need to provide a stage?
A stage isn’t essential, but it does enhance visibility and atmosphere – especially for larger or high-end events
What power supply is needed?
Most acts require at least 3 x 13-amp sockets each side of the performance area. We’ll confirm exact requirements during the planning stage.
Is the band’s equipment PAT tested and insured?
Yes – all equipment is annually PAT tested, and all acts hold up-to-date Public Liability Insurance.
Can the band perform outdoors?
Yes – as long as the performance area is covered, weatherproof, and has a safe power source.
